What Feedback Assistant Does

Feedback Assistant allows teachers and assessors to create and manage a bank of feedback comments in Google Sheets. Each comment is linked to a short abbreviation, allowing them to quickly insert consistent, detailed feedback during marking. Users can organise multiple comment banks across different spreadsheets and tabs created and managed within the application, allowing them to manage feedback for different subjects, units, or classes.

When working in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides, users can type an abbreviation in a comment box, and the extension automatically replaces it with the full feedback comment.

The extension operates only within comment boxes and does not modify the main document content.

How It Uses Google Data

The extension uses Google authentication to securely access the user’s Google Drive and Google Sheets.

It creates and manages its own folder and comment bank spreadsheets within the user’s Google Drive, and reads and updates data only from those spreadsheets.

The extension does not access or scan the user’s entire Google Drive and does not access emails, contacts, or any unrelated data.

Permissions

Feedback Assistant requests access to Google Drive using a limited scope that allows it to create and manage its own comment bank spreadsheets and folders within the user’s account.

It also interacts with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to insert feedback comments into comment boxes based on user input.

Privacy

Feedback Assistant does not collect personal data, track user activity, or transmit data to external servers.

All data remains within the user’s Google account or local browser storage and is fully controlled by the user.
